1st September 2025: Off the Rail Café, Thirlmere

Jack Frost was tapping on my shoulders when I arrived at the usual starting point of Loftus Oval.

We six hardy rides set off on time at 8 am for our destination the Off the Rail Café Thirlmere.

A pleasant, chilled ride down the OPH (Jack Frost became my pillion) then onto the M1 express way to the Picton turn off, onto the B88 to Picton. From Picton onto other roads (no idea the names) to arrive at our destination at Thirlmere.

We scored a table in the sun with table talk ranging from the weekend marches to what model ford was rusting in the back yard of the café.

After downing our refreshments, we geared up and headed home via a different route (again no idea the names of the roads/suburbs we when through).

Unfortunately, after passing through The Oaks (yes, I did recall one suburb name) John’s top box decided to take a runner when it detached from his bike.

Top box recovered and refitted with some minor damage we were off again.

A pleasant ride home however the Traffic Control Centre tagged us with every red light possible.

We said our farewells at Lucus Heights.

A great morning ride thanks to all.

Thanks to John for leading and Perry for doing TEC.

Terry.
