Another glorious fresh sunny morning, with 10 bodies ready for a ride, with the last to arrive, Shrek, our Ride leader. Shrek led us out down the OPH, taking the Appin Rd exit out onto Picton Rd at Wilton. We then got onto the Hume taking the Bargo Rd exit, and then took Arina and Rockford Rd to Tahmoor, and then Thirlmere Way back to Thirlmere. From there we made our way over to Oakdale, and eventually a left at The Oaks, onto Silverdale Rd to our destination, Warragamba for a spot of morning tea.

After a pleasant morning tea, due to increasing winds, a more direct route for home was planned, taking Silverdale Rd, Werombi Rd, May farm Rd, Foster’s Lane, Westbrook, Cowdor Rds for a run through Douglas Park and Appin Rd for home.

Everything was going swimmingly until a few km before the Berg on the OPH, when a tree blew down into the path of Nippy Norm, who had to smash through the canopy of the tree, sustaining some damage to his V Strom, fortunately, Nippy didn’t get hurt, or drop the bike, he was bike 5 in the line, with the falling tree giving him only a second or 2 to clench his finkter, and after having to veer onto the other side of the road myself to miss the tree, spent the next km dodging the bits of tree Norm was throwing off his lap and handlebars.

We all stopped at Heathcote for our goodbyes and a safety debriefing.

Thanks to Shrek for leading todays ride, and all who came along, making it a great day.
