The skies are cloudy with no sign of rain but the needle on the thermometer is not breaking double figures. Nine bikes and two pillions are at Heathcote seeking a ride leader. I put my hand up and decide to go through the RNP, OPH, Appin Road, Broughton Pass, Douglas Park then Menangle Road for a coffee break at The Menangle Store.
The run through the park was at the usual sedate pace and a slow Toyota Corolla gave everyone plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of the southern end of the National Park. However from Stanwell Tops it was a good run to our destination with Gorilla at the tail keeping everyone together.

The Menangle Store had a table for us in their overflow shed complete with a necessary heater. Coffee, pies and cakes were the order of the day and everyone seemed to get very comfortable and our stop ended up being longer that planned. Gerry left us after the stop as he had DR’s to deliver. The homeward journey was the reverse of this morning’s ride except we stayed on the OPH to Waterfall. I did think about going through the RNP but being school holidays decided the chance of a clear run were minimal.
We stopped at Heathcote for our goodbyes. The temperature was still barely in double figures however with everyone dressed for the cold and no rain it was a great morning. Thanks to all who came along and Gorilla for TEC duties.
