Another fantastic spring day, I got talked into leading today’s ride. Robertson Pie Shop was the decided destination due to new owners, with 4 riders out of 11 wanting to keep it short for various reasons, opting to pull out at Jamberoo.
Our first detour was via the Royal and back to the OPH, joining the Southern Freeway at Bulli, with a H/W Patrol vehicle travelling south just ahead of us.
Next, we took the Picton Rd exit for a run down Mt Kembla, then all the way south to the Minnamurra turn-off for a run along Swamp Rd and into Jamberoo. I don’t know what happened after that, apart from discovering that only 4 of us were making our way up Jamberoo Pass to the pie shop.
It was notably cooler up at Robertson, so we sat inside for coffee and a pie.
Back on the road, we did Tourist Rd westbound, Range Rd, Old South Rd, the Y towns, M31 to Wilton, and then Broughton Pass and Appin Rd for our final run up the OPH—saying our goodbyes at Heathcote at about 1 p.m.
