Saturday:

- Via Appin and Y-Towns to Moss Vale (due to Macquarie Pass road closure)
- Early morning tea at Sunrise Bakery in Moss Vale (9am)
- Via Bungonia and Oallen to Braidwood (enjoying the lovely twisty Oallen Rd) Lunch at the Braidwood Bakery (just as I was leaving John turned up on his RT) Via Araluen, Larrys Mountain and Moruya
25th May 2025: Dakar Route Batemans Bay 25th May 2025: Dakar Route Batemans Bay - Quite a number of causeways to cross, but none deep enough to cause any concerns
- A few snakes were trying to warm themselves up on the road as well
- Via North Head Drive (along Moruya River) and some more backroads to Batemans Bay Arrived at the Motel before the main group
Sunday:
-
25th May 2025: Dakar Route Batemans Bay Early breakfast at Se7en Café by the Sea (yes that’s how it’s spelled; “Se7en”) Left Batemans Bay southbound then via Runnyford Rd to Nelligen
- Some furry traffic control (e.g. Roos) on Runnyford Rd
- Great scenery, especially across the 120m long Runnyford timber bridge
- Blast up Kings Hwy with bugger all traffic (only caught up to 3 cars all the way, and always just before an overtaking lane – brilliant!)
- Tried a shortcut from Northangera to Nerriga, however the 2nd causeway had way too much fast flowing water and I’ve backtracked 5 km and headed via Braidwood
- Another great ride from Braidwood to Nowra. There’s only 5km of dirt left on the road to Nerriga, the rest is all sealed
- Timing was perfect and I caught up with the main group in Bomaderry.
Cheers, Dakar
