Today my ride was to a new bakery, for me anyway, and as it turned out, the same for most of the others as well. The weather was really nice and sunny, but really cold, 7 to 8 degrees all the ride down to our destination. When I turned up at the servo, Schaffie, Monkey and Keith were there waiting, but by the time we lefty Col and two new guys Peter and Steve joined us. Steve is a member of Ulysses and has ridden with us once or twice before, but first time for his mate Peter….glad you guys enjoyed the run and hopefully see you again.
As we left the servo, Keith offered to be my TEC, and his radio was working well, nice and clear. We travelled down the OPH to Appin Rd. through Broughton Pass, Wilton, then back onto the M1 until Avon Dam Road exit, on through the Y towns, turning off at Alpine and running into Mittagong the back way, until we arrived at our destination, the Gumnut Patisserie. As I said earlier, I hadn’t been here before and it turned out really well, sitting outside in full sunshine we all commented just how good the pies etc. were, also the fabulous display of cakes inside which had plenty of customer action….the coffee was good too, I recon I’ll be back.

After about 30 minutes or so, I told the boys we were going back the same way we came into Mittagong, but we will keep going along Range Rd. until we hit Tourist Rd. follow that all the way to Macquarie Pass, run down the hill, with a 5 minute stop at a Stop and Go light (they’re doing quite a bit of road work at the moment) on through Calderwood, back towards Dapto onto the M1 for a nice run back to Heathcote for a photo and goodbyes.

Many thanks to Keith who did a great job of TEC, and also to all the other brave souls for riding in very cold conditions, glad you all enjoyed it as I did, back home at 1:15, see you on the next one.
