Our Ride Captain led today’s ride. With a little wind picking up during the ride briefing, thirteen of us set off down the OPH, taking the Picton Road exit for a run down Mt Kembla. We stopped for coffee and a bite to eat at the Cordeaux Heights Café.
We were there longer than planned—as they did a “Lucky” on me and forgot to make my BLT! So I was eating while everyone else was ready to leave.
Eventually, we headed off back to the freeway and south to Fowlers Road, taking Marshall Mount Road (which is turning into one big construction zone), through Calderwood, and then onto Church Street for the run to Jamberoo. From there, we rode west—up Jamberoo Pass, along Tourist Road, Range Road, Old South Road, through the Y towns, and then back onto the Hume Highway north to Picton Road.
We crossed over to Wilton, then took Broughton Pass and Appin Road for our final run back up the OPH, turning left at the lights at Heathcote for lunch at The Arbour, Heathcote. Those who stayed for lunch enjoyed the food, and the beer was refreshing. I don’t think it’ll be the last time we visit there.
