It’s Monday morning, 8 a.m. Russel and Whispers are waiting at Loftus Oval for those willing to prove the weather bureau wrong again. The sky was overcast—but no rain.
Well, nobody else was prepared to take up the challenge, so the two of us departed for Cordeaux Heights. We got as far as Bulli when the spots appeared on my windscreen—not heavy, but enough to wash the dust off.
About Mt Ousley, it became heavier as we turned off Picton Road, then onto Mt Keira and along to Mt Kembla. Drizzle stayed with us to Cordeaux, where—of course—it stopped.
Over breakfast, the B.O.M. informed us the rain would stop shortly… whatever that means.
We entered the expressway at Figtree for a shorter way home, avoiding Mt Keira. About Bulli, on the home run, the clouds parted and blue sky appeared. After Waterfall, the roads were dry and obviously no rain had fallen all morning.
B.O.M. one, us nil.
Cheers, Whispers
