This morning we had 6 turn up for a ride on this fine, crisp sunny winters morning. I turned up right on 9am needing fuel, and as a result, I ended up leading the ride. I led the group out, followed by Nippy Norman on his V Strom, Bruce on his Ducati, Kevin on his V Strom and Owen & Leslie on their 850 Tiger bring up the rear.

We were off to Diggies at Kiama, travelling via the old Hwy, and the southern motorway all the way to the Minamurra turn off, where we took Swamp Rd, before doing the run up and over Saddleback and down into Kiama and out to the Blowhole Headland.
We got a table inside, with most of us going for the bacon and more bacon roll, some with an egg and hash brown also.
Nippy told us how all his friends were dead, and we were only acquaintances, well, some of us thought we were his friend up until then.

After our relaxing morning tea, we headed for home, with a run straight back up the freeway, heading straight through Wollongong and taking the run up the coast rd followed by a run north through the Royal.
At Thirroul, we were stopped outside a church, where a funeral procession pulled out in front of us, so it was a bit slow following them for a few km’s, but now I know where the cemetery is at least.
Thanks to all who attended today, making it a very pleasant morning with all the….. acquaintances.
