With the overnight cool change arriving, accompanied by some overnight rain, it was down to the die-hards to fly the flag today.
Only 2 riders made a show, Shane Orr and myself, and we weren’t going to let the damp roads deture us. We headed down the OPH all the way to the Picton Rd exit, making our way down Mt Kierra, then across to Figtree, taking the shotcut past the school, over to the Mt Kembla Rd and to our destination, Cordeaux Heights Cafe.
Shane filled me in on the away rides he attended in my absence, while we both enjoyed a mug of coffee. We decided on the scenic route home, travelling up Mt Kembla, across to Mt Ousley via Clive Bissel Drive, then heading north and then down to the coast Rd, via Bulli Pass and our final run all the way through the Royal. We had a few tiny spots of rain as we left Heathcote at the start, but the rest of the day was a cool 17-18 degrees with no rain.
