We have made it to Mansfield at the end of day 2, we hit Nowra, headed across to Nerriga, Bungendore, had lunch at Cooma, where Shrek removed a small bird from his front wheel, then it was Jindabyne Thredbo for an overnight at Corryong, day 2 was mornos at Mitta Mitta, over Mt Beauty and through Falls Creek, lunch at Bright, and on to Mansfield, a lot of k’s but everything has gone well.

Schafe called and informed us, that he would be unable to meet us at Mansfield, as planned, he was towing his caravan through Mt White, when one of his wheels overtook him, causing a sight delay to his plans.

We made it to Phillip Island, House is nice, no towels, Schafe turned up today, the legend riding down in 1 day, over 900 km, but we took Shreks route, just under 1,500 km, with a run in with a black snake, over and down every tight winding mountain Pass and valley.

The Bus has just realized he is an old man over the last 3 days, and with Schafe doing the 1 day (950 km plus) ride down, Martin has found himself, left wanting, we are all looking forward to the races tomorrow, and not riding, oh, and the jokes being told tonight have reached a new low.

Today is day 1 of the Superbikes, we started the day with Schafe and I, hitting the shops for food and beverages for the next 3 days, and to buy towels, and we all got to the track around 11.30 am.

The new track surface looks like it’s going to be a record breaker, and it was already happening. We wondered around Gardner straight for a couple of hours, checking out all the bikes, visiting the merch stand and enjoyed a coffee, before jumping back on the bikes, to visit all the different viewer areas around the circuit over what remained of the afternoons free
practice and a 300cc SuperSport race, we were welcomed to the island with a little very light drizzle that was on and off every hour or so, and a very fresh breeze coming off the ocean, with 18 to 20 degrees for the day. Back to the house to cook our dinner.

Schafe was our 2 tyre Michelin Chef for our stay at Phillip Island turning out a very nice brown rice combo with BBQed sausages, and he showed his culinary skills for the following 3 nights also.

Shrek headed down the track early to snag a spot for us, which turned out to be a picnic table/seats at Lukey Heights while Schafe and I waited for Martin to return in a cab, from his overnight stay in Hospital, he had a blood pressure issue just after arrival at the track the day before, and after assessment by the St John’s medics at the track, he was taken away in an ambulance, but good news, he’s back, and feeling much better, no rain t… See more

Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th, was the ride home from Phillip Island

We headed east and took the princes Hwy all the way up the east coast with an overnight at Pambula, all home safely, with no mechanical issues or tyre issues the hole trip. The Colonial at Pambula was booked out, we had to stay over the road, which was fine, a big thanks to Schafe, Shrek, and the Bus, for making it a very enjoyable trip, and Martin for keeping us all on our toes.
