Dakar led today’s ride. Nine of us were led out, down the OPH, next taking Appin Road, then past the Douglas Park Weir, out onto Menangle Road, and back towards Picton Road. We turned right onto Picton Road and crossed the bridge at Picton Station.
We then made our way to Thirlmere and onto Hilltop, where we enjoyed morning tea. Looks like it has new management—only half the cakes they had before!

We continued on to Colo Vale, down onto Old South Road, Range Road, and then got onto Kangaloon Road, turning left onto Moss Vale Road through Kangaroo Valley. This was followed by Wattamolla Road, back to Berry, then out onto the Princes Highway. We took the Fox Ground–Broughton Village detour, then rejoined the highway, followed by a turn-off at Minnamurra to have lunch at the Kiama Downs Golf Club.
After lunch, it was every man for himself, with riders heading every which way for home.
Thanks to our ride leader, Dakar, for a great ride today—and to Slim for taking tail and looking after our P-plater, Brett.
