Six of us turned up for another sunny and cool Saturday. The ride didn’t start all that smooth. Only a few 100m into the trip we had to pull over for some minor non-invasive surgery on the FJR to facilitate gear changes with offroad boots. Then we set off again, one of the “usual” ways to Jamberoo for morning tea.
Then it was up the newly re-opened Jamberoo Mountain Road and via Robertson for a brief stop at Kangaroo Valley. It was time to say goodbye to Big Al, venturing further South for the weekend. The 5 of us headed off via Wattamolla, Toolijooa and Swamp Rd to The Sunken Spud in Shellharbour. I discovered The Sunken Spud some months ago while taking the long way home from Pirate’s Smokin’ Café ride. It’s a great spot to have fish & chips and/or ice cream and sits right opposite the Shellharbour Swimming Pools with great views over the ocean.
The ride home was via Mount Kembla and the OPH. Thanks for the company and the TEC’s (swapping duties due to technical issues).
